at the Completion Ceremony of Moto Road Project

                                               (October 4th, 2013)

Honorable Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Banimarama and Mrs Banimarama,

  Honorable Ministers and Permanent Secretaries,

General Manager of China Railway First Group Fiji Company Mr. Qiao Yong,

  Local citizens,

  Ladies and Gentlemen,

  Good Afternoon and Nisa Bula!

I have the pleasure to join you here at the Completion Ceremony of Moto Road Project.

The Chinese government began to provide concessional loans to four road improvement projects in Fiji in accordance with Fijian government’s increased input in infrastructure. Today I am delighted to be one of you to witness the first completion of these projects-the Moto Road, delivering great convenience to the local people.

Other projects under the Chinese government’s assistance are progressing well; I believe they will be finished with efficiency and good quality.

On this occasion, I would like to extend my gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister for gracing the ceremony. Also, I would like to congratulate the Prime Minister for a series of successful overseas visits during the past two weeks, in particular, on your distinguished presence and address at the 68th UNGA.

We have just celebrated the 64th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and, we are to celebrate with the people of Fiji, the Fiji Day, next week. Let’s spare no effort to continue to strengthen our bilateral relations and bring more benefits to the people of our two countries.

Before I conclude, I would like to express our sincere thanks to China Railway First Group, Fiji Road Authority and all parties, for your support and professional work.

  Thank you and Vinaka vakalevu!
